UCSC to hold 16th annual Alumni Vintners Wine Tasting on Saturday, April 22

The UCSC Alumni Association's popular annual Alumni Vintners Wine Tasting will be held this Saturday, April 22, and the public is invited. The evening event, showcasing select wines, gourmet food, and music by UCSC chefs, vintners, and musicians, will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Multipurpose Room at College Nine and College Ten, below the University Center on the UCSC campus. Tickets are $37 for members of the UCSC Alumni Association and $40 for nonmembers. Event proceeds will benefit a scholarship fund for financially needy undergraduates.

The Wine Tasting is one of 50 reunions, lectures, panels, and receptions taking place at UCSC on April 22 during Banana Slug Spring Fair, the annual campus homecoming. This is the first time that the Alumni Vintners Wine Tasting, formerly a summer event, will be held on the same day that hundreds of alumni return to campus for reunions.

Music will be provided by Santa Cruz Ensembles, whose members include Gino Raugi (Porter '82) on guitar, Dan Robbins (Porter '98) on bass, and Michael Strunk (Oakes '91) on drums.

At the Wine Tasting, a drawing will be held for fine wines, a two-night stay at a vineyard guesthouse, and a private winery tour. Proceeds will benefit the UCSC Alumni Association Scholarship Fund (AASF), which grants renewable awards to financially needy undergraduates.
