Dear UCSC Campus Community,

I am excited to officially launch this year’s UC Santa Cruz employee campaign in support of United Way of Santa Cruz County. The 2023 campaign - United in Purpose - centers the increased impact we can have when we come together, united in a common goal. Through diverse programs, United Way promotes equity, creates opportunity and improves lives and communities.

With the generous support of donors and advocates like you, United Way of Santa Cruz recently launched two new efforts. The United for Youth Initiative pairs middle and high school students with adults to co-create programs to address their emerging needs. The 211 program connects people to basic needs and resources including housing, food, health and mental health care, transportation, legal assistance and much more.

Giving is easy

Even a small donation makes a positive impact in the local Santa Cruz community. Every dollar raised here, stays here, and anyone, including members of our UC Santa Cruz community, can take advantage of the programs.

If you donated through payroll deduction during last year’s United Way campaign, your annual donation will automatically roll over into the 2023 campaign. Your donation amount will remain the same.

If you're a new donor or a donor considering increasing your gift, you can do so by creating a new pledge. You can choose a deduction per pay period or a one-time contribution. The campaign runs through the month of November. Just follow these three easy steps:

  1. Click on the UCSC donation page: ucsc.edu/unitedway
  2. Fill out the Workplace Pledge Card at the bottom of the page.
  3. Choose either Payroll Deduction, Pledge by Card, Check or Continue my Giving

Thank you for your continued support of the United Way campaign and for helping to create a thriving, healthy and safe Santa Cruz County for all. Help spread the word, use one of the UCSC-United in Purpose Zoom backgrounds

Sincerely,
