I want to send a brief note to thank you for the many messages of support I've received this week. My wife Kelly and I appreciate the notes and phone calls.
I am very pleased to write that I expect to be released from the hospital shortly, perhaps tomorrow, and look forward to rejoining you on campus later this month.
Kelly and I also want to thank the doctors and staff at UC San Francisco Medical Center and Alison Galloway, who is so capably filling in for me during my absence.
It is heartwarming to know that we are surrounded by such a caring community.
