As announced in earlier messages, UCSC is facing its fourth consecutive year of budget cuts. This presents an unprecedented challenge as we seek to develop new ways of functioning in an era of diminished resources. We are committed to continuing the involvement of the campus community as this affects all of us.

The Chancellor's Office is hosting a Budget Forum for faculty and academic employees next week. The forum is co-sponsored by the Academic Senate.

At the forum, Chancellor Blumenthal and CP/EVC Galloway and others will provide the latest about UC's and UCSC's budget projections and about the possible impacts at UCSC. Much of the time will be devoted to address your questions and hear your comments.
