Student Health Center Closure on September 17, 2009

To: UCSC Campus Community

From: Mary Knudtson, NP, Executive Director Student Health Services

The Student Health Center team welcomes you back to the new school year. In order to better serve you, our staff will be training on Thursday, September 17th, and therefore the Student Health Center, Counseling and Psychological Services, Rape Prevention Education, and SHOP will be closed all day for patient/client care.

Students needing urgent medical care on September 17th are advised to seek attention at the Santa Cruz Medical Clinic, Westside Urgent Care, located at 1203 Mission Street (at the corner of Laurel and Mission Streets). You may contact the clinic by calling 458-6310.

The Student Health Center will resume normal patient care operations, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, on Friday, September 18th.

As many of you are aware, we are well into the Student Health Center's renovation and seismic upgrade project. We want the campus community to know that the Student Health Center is open during construction and will continue to provide same day appointments and urgent care services for illness and injuries. Please note that due to the construction, students may experience delays in scheduling routine visits and check ups. Please check our web site to see the latest updates on the renovation as well as contact information. To schedule an appointment please call 459-2500. To expedite refills of medications, please call the SHC pharmacy refill line at 459-1546. If you have your prescriptions filled off campus, please request your off campus pharmacist fax refill requests to your Student Health Center clinician at 459-3564.

We appreciate your flexibility during our renovation project, and look forward to providing our student community a safer, "greener", and more innovative facility in the near future.
