UC Santa Cruz establishes new Center for the Middle East and North Africa

The interdisciplinary center, directed by associate professor of history Jennifer Derr, will focus on the culture, history, and politics of the region. Its inaugural event is scheduled for Feb. 4 at the Kuumbwa Jazz Center as part of The Humanities Institute’s 'Questions that Matter' series.
