Where the streets had no names
For most of UCSC’s 45-year history, most of its streets had no names. Visitors and new students would often find themselves lost and bewildered. Not anymore. The campus has now given names to all its anonymous roads, lanes and byways.

Researchers use hi-res detector to map neural circuits of the retina
Using a sophisticated neural recording system developed at UCSC, researchers were able to trace for the first time the neural circuitry in the retina.
