UCSC receives NEH awards that will further research in anthropology and musicology
On January 10, the NEH announced $28.1 million in grants toward 204 humanities projects nationwide. Two of this year’s recipients are part of the Slug family themselves, and their new grants will help to further their research in both anthropology and musicology at UC Santa Cruz.

Support and resources following video released by Memphis Police of beating
Dear Campus Community, Earlier today, the Memphis Police Department released deeply disturbing body camera footage of five police officers brutally assaulting Tyre Nichols. He died three days later. The Memphis Police Chief has called the officers’ actions “heinous, reckless, and inhumane.” The officers involved have been fired, arrested and charged with second-degree murder. No outcome…
