Garima Desai (College Nine '20, environmental studies and economics) became UC Santa Cruz's first Rhodes Scholar when she was named among the top 32 U.S. scholars who will have their expenses paid to attend graduate school at Oxford University through a Rhodes Scholarship.

From developing faster tests to building prediction models of the spread of the infection, campus researchers are applying their skills in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
