With a COVID-induced online pivot that allowed for eclecticism and flexibility, Alumni Week was a virtual smorgasbord for nostalgic Banana Slugs.

Antonio Velasco (Crown ’75, biology), who worked in the fields alongside his parents as a child, became a doctor who developed protocols for treating pesticide-poisoning victims.

Pichardo was among the participants in a project developing methods to detect sulfur and selenium in the Salton Sea.

The Zapotec Language Project and Nido de Lenguas (Language Nest), a project supported by the Humanities Institute at UC Santa Cruz, celebrate and promote endangered languages of southern Mexico.

The UC Santa Cruz Alumni Scholarship Fund is a proud tradition on campus, helping graduates reconnect with the campus while paying it forward.
