UCSC chancellor George Blumenthal is one of 165 university presidents and chancellors in the United States who have signed an open letter to President Obama and members of congress, expressing concern about federal budget cuts to research and higher education.

In Memoriam: Doug Weismann
Doug Weismann, an Information Technology Services staff member, passed away over the weekend. He joined ITS in March of this year after many years as an employee of the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey and at Cisco Systems.
