Factor Leave Accrual and Change in Work Week
Beginning January 1, 2013, all non-academic UCSC Staff and Student Employees will begin accruing leave based on a Factor Leave Accrual Table, rather than on a Monthly Leave Accrual Table.

In Memoriam: Gregory Sulger
A Lick Observatory staff member died shortly after noon on Tuesday, December 11, in a single-vehicle accident that occurred near the Mount Hamilton facility. Gregory Sulger was a senior building maintenance worker.

A story about the Grateful Dead in the New Yorker magazine noted that Nicholas Meriwether is the curator of the Grateful Dead Archive which the band had donated to UC Santa Cruz. An article about the Grateful Dead Archive and Meriwether also appeared in the journal, American Scholar.
