The Staff Advisory Board is very pleased to sponsor the 2013 UCSC Thumbs Up Awards.

We write to remind you that, as previously announced, contribution rates to the UC Retirement Plan (UCRP) for both the university and employees will increase next month.

As the campus prepares for the many commencement and year-end celebrations this weekend, I wanted to alert you to the impact this will have on traffic and parking.

It has been an eventful year in academic planning, and I write to update the campus on changes to the graduate and undergraduate curriculum as well as plans for promoting major learning outcomes.

A training exercise sponsored by the UC Santa Cruz Police Department will be held the week of June 18-20, 2013, at the Porter Dormitory area.

We are pleased to inform you that the University will be implementing systemwide salary increases for the 2013-14 fiscal year, effective July 1, 2013.

We write to request campus input on the proposed UC Santa Cruz Smoke & Tobacco Free Policy.

In consultation with the search committee for the vice chancellor of research, I have decided to close the search, recraft the job description, and reopen the search in the fall.
