    I’m pleased to announce that the student demonstration in Kerr Hall that began Tuesday has ended, with both student protesters and campus administrators agreeing on a path forward.

  • ITS Alert: Google Docs Sharing Scam – May 3

    There is an email scam circulating worldwide including our campus that appears to be from a legitimate email address that looks like someone is trying to share a Google Document with you.

    Tonight’s community town hall with the UCSC police department has been canceled. It will be rescheduled for another day and announced through a campus email. I apologize for the inconvenience.

    The campus websites have experienced two outages this morning. ITS is not exactly sure what is causing the outages, but we’ll continue to investigate. Websites are stable at this time.

    The UC Santa Cruz Arboretum is conducting a controlled agricultural burn today from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

    UC Santa Cruz is anticipating potential protest activities on Monday, May 1. Organizers are calling for a range of actions on campus and in the nearby area. This is an advisory to be prepared and to stay informed.

    In support of offering more housing for UC Santa Cruz students, the campus is looking at changing the land-use designation for 14 acres on the west side of campus.   • Staff, faculty discount for Alumni Weekend keynote by Carmen Perez

    Faculty and staff are eligible for discount price for the Alumni Weekend keynote by longtime community organizer Carmen Perez. To register at this price, employees need to register for the keynote on Alumni Weekend website. The price goes from $35 to $25 when users add an affiliation of staff or faculty.

    This morning many of you received an email scam asking you to click on a secure “staff enrollment portal” link to enroll your employment data.
