Cal Fire prescribed burn planned for Thursday
Cal Fire has advised campus officials that state fire crews will conduct a 12-acre prescribed burn near the intersection of Empire Grade and Jamison Creek Road between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Thursday.

In Memoriam: Michael Nauenberg (1934–2019)
Michael Nauenberg, professor emeritus of physics, passed away at his home on July 22, 2019.

Gun violence in Gilroy
Last night, a gunman opened fire at the Garlic Festival in Gilroy. Three people have died and a dozen more are being treated for their injuries. The gunman was killed by police.

McHenry Road Lane Closures
The Campus is continuing necessary construction and repairs on sections of McHenry Road. The segment of McHenry Road between Arts Parking Lot 126 and Parking Lot 120A will have lane closures through 8/2/2019.

Windows 7 Retirement Jan. 20, 2020
Microsoft will end support of Windows 7 on January 20, 2020. UCSC currently has more than 500 Windows 7 computers in use by instructors, staff and students. Therefore, ITS is preparing now for the Windows 7 retirement.

On August 26, you will begin accessing the UCSC Google Apps with your CruzID and Gold password (not your Blue password). UCSC Google Apps includes campus email, calendar, drive (docs, sheets, forms) groups, sites, etc.
