Addressing impacts of graduate student grade strike
Some UC Santa Cruz graduate students have said they will not turn in fall quarter grades unless the campus provides them with more financial support to help defray the high cost of housing in Santa Cruz.

Exceptions to campus closure 2019-2020 and power service interruption
As in the past, the UC Santa Cruz campus will close during the holiday season in an effort to conserve energy at a time when the university business is generally slow. This year the campus will be closed from Tuesday, December 24, 2019 through Wednesday, January 1, 2020, re-opening on Thursday, January 2, 2020.

Investigation of fire at Rachel Carson College (Case 19-1127)
UC Santa Cruz police are seeking the campus community’s help in the investigation of a small fire set on the second floor of a Rachel Carson College residence hall on Saturday.

Officers recover stolen bicycles
After a string of bicycle thefts, officers with the UC Santa Cruz Police Department have arrested a suspect and recovered two stolen bicycles.

Campus, county not expected to be affected by planned PG&E outage
In an update, PG&E officials stated that UC Santa Cruz and all of Santa Cruz County will not be included in the planned power outage scheduled for late Wednesday.
