Private giving climbs 9.4 percent at UCSC; alumni giving nearly triples
Private donors gave nearly $24 million in gifts and pledges to support UC Santa Cruz in fiscal year 2011-2012, an increase of 9.4 percent from the previous year. Alumni giving roughly tripled — from $2.5 million to $7.3 million, and alumni giving increased from 11 percent of the total to 30 percent.

Private donors to UC Santa Cruz increased their giving to undergraduate student support by 39 percent last fiscal year, bolstering scholarships and other financial aid at a time when many students and families are struggling.
