SENATE FACULTY
POLICY-COVERED ACADEMIC APPOINTEES
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to share the news from the UC Office of the President that the salary scales for Senate faculty and policy-covered academic appointees will be raised by 4%. The increase will be effective July 1, 2026 for policy-covered academic appointees (or July 5, 2026 for biweekly-paid appointees) and Oct. 1, 2026 for Senate faculty. The regular peer-review merit advancement process for academic appointees will also continue in accordance with academic personnel policy.
UC Santa Cruz employees play an important role in advancing our mission, and the campus wants to recognize your hard work and contributions. Campus leaders are committed to continuing to take thoughtful, proactive steps to retain and support our talented faculty and staff even while making progress in reducing the structural core funds deficit.
The wages of academic appointees who are represented by our various unions are governed by collective bargaining agreements and not included in this program.
Sincerely,
Paul
