Progress on Common Data Platform and InfoView transition
The Data Management team is currently finalizing the implementation plan for Sigma Computing.
We are pleased to provide a comprehensive update on the progress of the Common Data Platform (CDP) initiative, three months following our initial announcement. The Data Management team is currently finalizing the implementation plan for Sigma Computing. The transition to Sigma Computing, our selected enterprise reporting application, is progressing as planned. Since the launch of this modernization initiative, the Data Management team has made significant strides and is approaching the completion of the pilot phase. Report migration activities have begun within three primary data domains: Finance, Personnel, and Student. User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for the reports that have been developed so far in Sigma will commence in March. This phase will help ensure the accuracy and usability of migrated reports.
In the upcoming weeks, InfoView users can expect to receive communications about the data domain migration timeline, engagement opportunities, and available training resources. Non-InfoView users may continue to stay informed by following CDP updates on the official CDP webpage.
InfoView continues to operate in parallel with Sigma Computing, as previously communicated, with no disruption to current reporting needs. This parallel support remains in place through December 2027 to ensure a smooth and seamless transition for all campus users.
- Legacy Data Warehouse and InfoView: Maintenance and critical break/fix support remain ongoing for both platforms. All existing service agreements continue to be honored, though enhancements and new service requests are still paused. Open requests have been reviewed, and affected requestors have received direct updates from Data Management.
- Transition Activities: The freeze on changes and enhancements to InfoView resources remains in effect. Additional services requests for the legacy data warehouse or InfoView continue to be deferred until the transition is complete. New submissions are being backlogged and will be evaluated via the CDP process.
- Technical Support: Technical support for FMW is still subject to delays as the team prioritizes resources for the transition.
We appreciate your continued support and engagement as we move forward with this transformative initiative for our campus data and reporting infrastructure.
