Notice of open comment for interim Major Events Policy
The Major Events Policy aims to prioritize public safety, coordinate resources, and provide better tools for event planners.
The Division of Finance, Operations, and Administration (FOA) is now accepting comments on a proposed Major Events policy.
The policy received interim approval last June, with the intent to provide stakeholders sufficient time to operationalize the new requirements before final approval. The Major Events Policy aims to prioritize public safety, coordinate resources, and provide better tools for event planners.
The new Spaces website provides detailed venue information, and the new Major Events Google Calendar provides a view into approved Major Events. Consistent with the standard policy development process, FOA is now accepting comments through February 28, 2026. Comments may be submitted to the Policy Coordination Office at pco@ucsc.edu.
