Tuesday, February 10

Thursday, February 12
- Remembering Betty Shabazz with speakers and open mike session. 7 to 9:30 p.m., Oakes College Guzman Room/Taqueria. Refreshments provided. Free. Call 459-4505 for more information.
Thursday, February 19
- Black Jeopardy. Student teams compete in their knowledge of black history, culture, and trivia. 8 p.m., Merrill Dining Hall. Free. Call 459-5534 for more information.
- Fences, a play by August Wilson, presented by the UCSC African-American Theater Arts Troupe. 8 p.m. in the Stevenson College Dining Hall. $9 general, $6 students and seniors. Performances also scheduled for February 20, 21, and 22. Call 459-2159 for more information.
Friday, February 20
- Black African Americans and Their Art. Staff and faculty will present their poetry, artwork, singing, and other forms of art. 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Porter College Fireside Lounge. Free. For more information, call 459-5087.
Saturday, February 21
- Fifth Annual Mo’ Better Jazz and Blues Night featuring the music of "Potential," a Bay Area band. 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., Oakes College Guzman Room/Taqueria. Tickets purchased before Feb. 21 from the Oakes Housing Office are $3 students, $5 general. Tickets are an additional $2 each at the door. Semiformal attire is requested. Monday, February 23
- Soul Food. Part of a film series sponsored by Merrill and Crown Colleges. 9 p.m., Merrill Dining Hall. Free. The movie Soul Food will be reshown on Tuesday, February 24, at Crown Dining Hall, also at 9 p.m. Call 459-5534 for more information.
Saturday, February 28
