Environmental Health & Safety is offering monthly ergonomics classes for UCSC staff. The topics covered include: How to set up a computer workstation in an ergonomically correct way; early warning signs of computer-related injuries; contributing factors in the development of repetitive strain injuries; and what to do if you think you have an injury.
The classes are free. Staff who use a computer each day for two hours without interruption or for four or more hours total are strongly encouraged to attend a class.
The hour-long classes take place in the Cowell Student Health Center Conference Room.
The first class session was held October 1. The remaining classes are scheduled as follows:
- November 4, 10-11 a.m.
- December 4, 2-3 p.m.
- January 14, 2-3 p.m.
- February 5, 2-3 p.m.
- March 3, 10-11 a.m.
- April 21, 3-4 p.m.
- May 7, 2-3 p.m.
- June 2, 3-4 p.m.
- July 14, 9-10 a.m.
