Recruitment for Dean of Social Sciences launches
I am pleased to announce that the national recruitment for Dean of Social Sciences is now underway. Finalist interviews are expected to take place in April and will be open to the campus community.
Dear Campus Community,
I am pleased to announce that the national recruitment for Dean of Social Sciences is now underway.
We have retained the executive search firm WittKieffer to conduct the recruitment. The 11-member Search Advisory Committee, made up of campus stakeholders, is chaired by Dean of Humanities Jasmine Alinder. The group will assist in the selection process, soliciting applications from nominees, reviewing applications, and ultimately recommending a short list of finalists. The committee membership is posted on the CPEVC website recruitment page.
Public stakeholder meetings were held in early December to gather input on divisional needs and opportunities, and on the desired qualifications for the position. Input was also submitted through a stakeholder survey.
Finalist interviews are expected to take place April 13–24 and will be open to the campus community. Each finalist will visit campus and give a town-hall-style talk on their vision for the Social Sciences Division, as well as a subject-matter talk. Attendees of finalist talks will have the opportunity to provide feedback through a survey.
If you have specific questions not addressed on the site, please email Senior Human Resources Leader Lauren Morgan at llmorgan@ucsc.edu.
I look forward to your participation and input in this important search.
Sincerely,
Paul
