Summary of the Crime/Incident
On 06/09/2025, at approximately 1:39 a.m., the UC Santa Cruz Police Department received a report of an unknown male wearing a ski mask brandishing a knife at a group of students behind Porter B, near the Provost House.
UCPD officers responded to the scene but the subject had fled the area. The suspect reportedly brandished an 8 inch kitchen knife from his right rear pants pocket and was nonverbal when approached by students before they called 911.
Suspect(s) Description
The subject was described as a brown-skinned male, approximately 5’4″ to 5’6″ in height. Witnesses could not identify specific facial features or the exact race due to the subject wearing a black ski mask concealing his entire face. Witnesses described the subject as dressed entirely in black clothing, specifically wearing a black “Nike tech” jacket, black jeans, and black shoes.
