Section of Hagar Drive to be closed for maintenance from June 19 to Aug. 28

UC Santa Cruz will close a portion of Hagar Drive this summer to stabilize the ground and protect infrastructure. The closure—between Steinhart Way and just above the Athletics and Recreation parking lot (Lot 103)—will be in effect all day and night from Thursday, June 19, through Thursday, August 28.
Vehicles will be detoured on Coolidge Drive and transit services will be on a modified route. METRO buses will bypass Hagar and travel on Coolidge instead. UCSC Shuttles will partially serve Hagar with clockwise loops going as far as the East Remote Lot interior, and counterclockwise loops going as far as Athletics & Recreation (OPERS). Visit taps.ucsc.edu for schedules and updated information throughout the summer.
Pedestrians and cyclists will be detoured on paved paths around the closure (see below map).
Service roads at Cowell College, and Athletics and Recreation will remain open for authorized service vehicles and planned use. Vehicle turnaround points will be available at Quarry Plaza Lot, Lot 103, and East Remote Lot.
UC Santa Cruz is committed to equal access and inclusion for people with disabilities and strives to have a barrier-free environment. Community members can use the Report a Barrier form to notify the campus if this road closure prevents you or someone else from fully taking part in a university program, service, or activity.
