The UC Santa Cruz Police Department has arrested a suspect in connection with multiple campus incidents that occurred between February and May 2025. The incidents involved unauthorized video recording, voyeurism, and the theft of personal property on campus.

The suspect, former UC Santa Cruz student Tony Pau, was taken into custody at his residence in Daly City. Pau is facing four misdemeanor counts of California Penal Code 647(j)(3)—commonly referred to as the “Peeping Tom” or voyeurism law—as well as one felony count each of California Penal Code 459 (Burglary) and 487 (Grand Theft).

Chief Kevin Domby extended his appreciation to the campus community, including the victims who came forward and provided essential information that supported the investigation, as well as those who supported the case.
