Think summer this winter

Every summer, UC Santa Cruz offers hundreds of courses carefully selected by departments to help students make degree progress all year long. From lower to upper division and in-person or online options, summer helps students get ahead or stay on track - and they can start planning now!

The majority of the 2025 Summer Session classes are now listed at summer.ucsc.edu. Students can search by department or by General Education requirements. Until March 15, when the Summer Quarter is live in the Schedule of Classes, the Summer Session Office is your go-to resource to plan your summer this winter.

The four sessions run from June 23 through August 29 and are open to a diverse community of continuing students, visitors, and high school students.

From foundational courses in math and science—like the ever-popular Calculus and Organic Chemistry series—to hands-on classes like Improvisation, Creative Writing, and Metal Fabrication, there’s something for everyone this summer. Students can also enhance their resumes through service learning opportunities and internships, gaining valuable real-world experience alongside their coursework.

“Summer classes provide so many opportunities for students — whether they are on a Three-Year Pathway, pursuing a double major, or starting a minor,” said Jennifer Gallacher, director of Summer Session. “UC students can take advantage of both summer financial aid and the continuation of our Pay for Only 10 program to make summer even more accessible. ”

Information and course offerings are at summer.ucsc.edu.
