2024 Notification of republication of the Clery Act Annual Security & Fire Safety Report

Dear Campus Community, 

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), an updated version of the 2024 Annual Security & Fire Safety Report is available for viewing at: https://compliance.wordpress.ucsc.edu/files/2024/11/Annual-Security-and-Fire-Safety-Report-2024_11.8.pdf

The Annual Security & Fire Safety Report includes the following:   

  • Information about crime prevention and reporting; emergency response and evacuation procedures; emergency notifications and timely warnings; alcohol, drug, and weapons policies; sexual violence prevention and response policies and procedures; and other campus safety topics.  
  • Statistics for years 2021, 2022, and 2023 for crimes that occurred on the UC Santa Cruz campus, in certain off‐campus buildings or property, and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, campus. For 2023, the Rape statistics were changed from 22 On-Campus to 24 On-Campus  and from 19 Campus Residential to 21 Campus Residential to correct errors which were identified during a routine internal audit. For 2023, Stalking statistics were changed from 19 On-Campus to 20 On-Campus and from 8 Campus Residential to 9 Campus Residential to correct errors which were identified during a routine internal audit. These changes were made on 11/8/2024.
  • Information on fire safety policies and fire safety systems as well as statistics for years 2021, 2022, and 2023 for fires that occurred in UC Santa Cruz on‐campus student housing facilities.

Campus safety is a collaborative effort that involves the entire community. The university encourages victims/survivors, witnesses, and community members who are made aware of crimes to report all incidents to the UC Santa Cruz Police Department at (831) 459‐2231.
