Dear Campus Community,
Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), an updated version of the 2024 Annual Security & Fire Safety Report is available for viewing at: https://compliance.wordpress.ucsc.edu/files/2024/10/Annual-Security-and-Fire-Safety-Report-2024-3.pdf
The Annual Security & Fire Safety Report includes the following:
- Information about crime prevention and reporting; emergency response and evacuation procedures; emergency notifications and timely warnings; alcohol, drug, and weapons policies; sexual violence prevention and response policies and procedures; and other campus safety topics.
- Statistics for years 2021, 2022, and 2023 for crimes that occurred on the UC Santa Cruz campus, in certain off‐campus buildings or property, and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, campus. For 2024, the Hate Crime statistics were changed from 1 On-Campus to 1 On-Campus Vandalism characterized by racial bias to correct a clerical error that initially led to a partial statistical disclosure. This change was made on 10/14/2024.
- Information on fire safety policies and fire safety systems as well as statistics for years 2021, 2022, and 2023 for fires that occurred in UC Santa Cruz on‐campus student housing facilities.
A hard copy of this report is available upon request by contacting the UC Santa Cruz Police Department at 114 Carriage House Rd., Santa Cruz, CA 95064, or by calling 831-459-2231 ext. 1. Campus safety is a collaborative effort that involves the entire community. The university encourages victims/survivors, witnesses, and community members who are made aware of crimes to report all incidents to the UC Santa Cruz Police Department at (831) 459‐2231.
Sincerely,
Anna
