How can I vote?

Voting is a citizen's fundamental right, and UC Santa Cruz urges you to let your voice be heard. This year, the campus is making it as easy as possible for you to cast your ballot.

Where can I vote?
There will be two in-person voting sites for UCSC. One voting site will be located at the Stevenson Event Center. The other will be at the Silicon Valley Campus. Campus Drop Box
You may deposit your completed ballot in the Official Ballot Drop Box that has been installed in Quarry Plaza in front of Bay Tree Bookstore. If you have a mail ballot and are registered in Santa Cruz County, you can mail it before November 5th or hand it in at any polling place on Election Day.

Did you miss the registration deadline? You can still vote!
If you did not register to vote before the October 21st deadline, Same Day Voter Registration , known as Conditional Voter Registration in state law, is a safety net for Californians who miss the deadline to register to vote or update their voter registration information for an election. You will have to show up in person at an official vote center (such as the Stevenson Event Center). There will be conditional voter registration opportunities available. Ballots will be given once the county elections office has completed the voter registration verification process. You will need to bring your California driver’s license or Social Security number and provide your dorm room and campus mailbox number if you live on campus. Out-of-state driver’s licenses or ID’s are not acceptable.

I don’t know where I am registered, can I look it up online? Yes. You can go to VoterStatus.sos.ca.gov and look up your voter information. If you need to change anything, you can go to RegisterToVote.ca.gov and change it.

Where is my ballot?
Tracking your vote-by-mail ballot—when it is mailed, received, and counted—has never been easier. The California Secretary of State is now offering Where’s My Ballot?—a new way for voters to track and receive notifications on the status of their vote-by-mail ballot.

More information can be found on the UCSC Elections & Voter Information webpage. You may also contact the campus Government & Community Relations office for any questions or concerns.
