New UC Policy on Inventions, Patents, and Innovation Transfer

Effective July 1, 2024, UC adopted the Policy on Inventions, Patents, and Innovation Transfer (pdf) to establish the University’s ownership of intellectual property, facilitate legal protection under applicable intellectual property laws, promote innovation transfer, and commit to an equitable distribution of intellectual property commercialization income.  This new policy supersedes the previous 1997 Patent Policy.
