Dear UCSC community,
Recently, there has been an increase in COVID-19 cases in California, highlighting the importance of continuing preventive measures. To help prevent the spread of respiratory viruses: cover your coughs and sneezes, wash or sanitize your hands frequently, and clean commonly touched surfaces. Consider wearing a mask, especially indoors or in crowded spaces.
If you experience symptoms such as fever or cough, it's crucial to get tested promptly. Stay home and avoid contact with others for at least 24 hours and until your symptoms improve and you are fever-free without the use of fever-reducing medication. When you resume your activities, take additional precautions.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) provide detailed guidance on preventive strategies.
