The Division of Student Affairs and Success is pleased to announce the launch of a national recruitment for our associate vice chancellor for colleges, housing and educational services (AVC CHES).
Reporting to the vice chancellor of student affairs and success, the AVC CHES leads a department that creates, implements, and maintains a comprehensive array of living-learning programs and support services that enhance the UC Santa Cruz educational mission.
The AVC CHES provides strategic leadership in the design, development, implementation, coordination, assessment, and continuous improvement of residential and dining-related programs and services for students. They are charged with creating and maintaining a healthy, inclusive, and responsive campus environment for approximately 9,500 residential students.
Dani Barker and Angela Cline will co-chair the search committee. We have retained the executive search firm Spelman Johnson to assist us in this recruitment. The review of applications will begin on February 27, 2024, and continue until the position is filled. To learn more or apply, please visit the Spelman Johnson website.
During final interviews, likely in spring quarter, candidates will meet with campus constituents. Dates and times will be shared via Tuesday Newsday announcement once they are scheduled. We hope to have the new associate vice chancellor in place this summer.
The AVC CHES position is essential to our campus and plays a critical role in students’ experiences and success. We look forward to your participation in this important search.
