Transfer Summit will convene to discuss transfer student experience

You are invited to attend the 2024 Transfer Summit on Friday January 12 from 2-5 PM at the Stevenson Event Center on the main UCSC Campus. Refreshments and light snacks will be provided. We will be hosting a livestream here: https://vimeo.com/event/4006771.

The goal of the summit is to create a high-level shared understanding amongst faculty and staff of the many aspects of the transfer student experience. Together, we will identify areas of success and opportunity as we collectively strive to increase transfer student enrollments and improve transfer receptivity to and through UC Santa Cruz.  This will also allow for staff and faculty to leverage resources across the campus in support of our shared goals.

Learning Goals: 

  • Create a shared understanding of transfer student pathways, recent enrollments, resources, and why admitted students choose UC Santa Cruz
  • Introduce or reacquaint attendees with the orientation programs and success programs and resources available for transfer students during and after the transition to UC Santa Cruz
  • Review the academic pathway experience for transfer students at UC Santa Cruz, including curricular coherence, transfer-receptive culture, and the faculty and department advisor role in transfer student success.
