Amy Kozak has been named UC Santa Cruz’s new director of Audit and Management Advisory Services (AMAS). She started her role Monday, November 13.
“We are very excited to welcome Amy whose wealth of experience will build on a strong foundation of a people-centered audit program,” said Associate Chancellor and Chief of Staff Anna Finn who is the Campus Ethics and Compliance Officer.
The director of Audit and Management Advisory Services is a member of the chancellor’s leadership team and oversees the campus audit program, ensures compliance with auditing standards, provides expert consultations, and leads fraud investigations.
The Audit & Management Advisory Services (AMAS) Office reports administratively to the Chancellor’s Office and has a dotted reporting line to the Office of the President Ethics, Compliance and Audit Services Unit.
Before coming to UC Santa Cruz, Kozak was executive director of Audit & Consulting Services at Western Washington University. She has also served as senior internal auditor at Tulane University.
Kozak has a master’s degree in Business Administration from Tulane University and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Florida. She is also a Certified Internal Auditor.
Jim Doughtery, who has served as the director of Audit and Management Advisory Services since 2018, is retiring after more than 20 years at UC Santa Cruz. He started in AMAS as a part-time staff auditor and became a principal auditor before being appointed the director.
“Jim has been an invaluable leader for our auditing team and campus, and we wish him all the best in his retirement,” Finn said.
