Rent regalia for free by May 10
Regalia rental for all faculty members and lecturers is available for free.
Dear Colleagues,
Commencement is fast approaching and I hope you are planning to join us on the East Field from June 15 through June 18. We encourage you to join in the festivities, cheer on our graduates, and celebrate with them in the reception after each event.
Regalia rental for all faculty members and lecturers is available for free. Orders must be placed by May 10th using the provided link. This is the deadline for our vendor and not an internal deadline meaning we will not be able to make exceptions for late orders. If you have issues or questions, please contact commence@ucsc.edu.
If you would like to volunteer at commencement, opportunities will be shared next week (and don’t require regalia although they come with a free t-shirt). With our unique structure, volunteers get to interact with students and their guests directly and it is always special for students to see familiar faces on the field.
We have heard feedback from students that they wish more faculty members would be involved in commencement. While we no longer have large stage parties, faculty in regalia are extremely popular, greeting families and taking pictures with students at the reception (located right next to the stage), congratulating students as they enter and exit the stage, and this year we have bespoke stickers for each college to give away and would welcome your help!
