Candidate 1: Executive director of public safety and police chief

The finalists for the position of Executive Director of the Department of Public Safety /UC Santa Cruz Police Chief will be on campus beginning Feb. 6 and ending Feb. 14. UCSC community members are invited to participate in the interview process and to provide feedback on the three candidates.

During their time on campus, candidates will take part in virtual open forums. All UCSC faculty, staff and students are invited to attend.

In keeping with campus policy to release the candidate's name and curriculum vitae online one week prior to their two-day interview, those details are now available for Candidate No. 1. You must be signed in to your UC Santa Cruz account to access this information. To respect candidate privacy and the integrity of the process, please do not share candidate names, CVs, visit schedules, or related links outside of the UC Santa Cruz community.

Candidate #1’s virtual student forum is set for 10:00 - 10:45 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 7 via Zoom.
Candidate #1’s virtual faculty/staff forum is set for 3:00 - 3:45 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 7 via Zoom.

In order to allow for as many questions as possible to be addressed within the limited time, questions can be submitted ahead of time. The form will also continue to collect questions during the event.

Candidates 2 and 3 will be visiting campus on February 10 and 14 respectively. Details on the candidates will be available one week prior to their interviews. Links to the online virtual forums are available on the Virtual Forum Schedule.

Video recordings of the forums will be available to view shortly after the forum.

To provide feedback on the candidates, surveys will be available on the recruitment webpage and may be submitted until noon, Thursday, February 16, 2023.
