Thank you for making Giving Day such a success

Thank you for all of your efforts that made Giving Day 2022 such a resounding success! This year was record-setting, with more than $1 million raised through gifts from more than 3,700 donors. What an incredible result! The hard work this entire division and campus partners put into Giving Day pays such large dividends for our students, and I am extremely grateful.

The thought and effort you put into this annual initiative was readily evident. The website looked great and made it easy to see the assorted projects, matches, and challenges. The many emails that landed in my inbox from the various divisions and student-focused programs taking part pointed to significant coordinated legwork. I understand we also trialed a program this year to bring in advance gifts from established donors, and that we engaged our alumni ambassadors in a new way, encouraging and incentivizing their participation. Thank you for always being willing to try new things!

And thanks so much to our gifts and information-management teams, who will be processing thousands of donations over the coming days. I know your work is just beginning. It is very much appreciated!

Giving Day strengthens our engagement and connections with our broader community of alumni, parents and employees, and builds camaraderie as we all work together to advance UC Santa Cruz.
