First Interdisciplinary Research Symposium on Friday

Passionate, innovative and creative, UC Santa Cruz researchers work across disciplines to better understand our changing world, address the most pressing issues, confront our greatest societal challenges and interpret our human world in ways that sharpen our understanding.

On Friday, October 7, UCSC will hold the first Interdisciplinary Research Symposium to highlight and promote the innovative interdisciplinary research being conducted across the university.

Faculty groups will share their current research, key results to date and the broader impacts of the work in short TEDx-style presentations. Topics range from algorithmic system design and predictions to solutions for California coastal ecosystems to security and privacy vs. children’s smart toys, next-generation antimicrobial drug discovery, and much more.
