Audit and Management Advisory Services to report to Chancellor’s Office

Dear Colleagues,

In an effort to strengthen and streamline our organization, the Office of Audit and Management Advisory Services (AMAS) will report to the Chancellor’s Office effective July 1.

Having our internal audit office report to the Chancellor’s Office ensures that it is an integral and integrated part of the university’s shared governance structure. This reporting relationship also solidifies the role that internal audit has in providing a critical assessment, monitoring and consultative role in assisting the chancellor and senior leaders in the discharge of their oversight, management and operating responsibilities.

Associate Chancellor Anna Finn will remain our Campus Ethics and Compliance Officer (CECO) and will work closely with AMAS Director James Dougherty.

Reestablishing this alignment of the UCSC CECO responsibilities with internal audit leverages the responsibility that the CECO holds for the development of the campus-specific compliance work plan and oversight for its implementation.

Sincerely,
Cindy
