California State Parks has notified UC Santa Cruz that it will be increasing the presence of park rangers for added patrols in Wilder Ranch State Park after an uptick in evening trespassing.
The park, west of UC Santa Cruz, is open from 8 a.m. to sunset. Visitors are not permitted in the park after hours. We encourage our community to review and follow the rules and regulations that apply to any park they might visit. Anyone refusing to leave the park after sunset could be subject to a citation or arrest.
California State Parks has also indicated they will reach out to University of California police officers for support in the event their rangers need additional assistance.
