FAQs posted about Anthem-Dignity Health contract termination

To: UC Santa Cruz Community

From: Grace McClintock, Assistant Vice Provost, Academic Personnel Steve Stein, Associate Vice Chancellor, Staff Human Resources

We write as a follow up to the July 20, 2021 message from CP/EVC Lori Kletzer and VC Sarah Latham, regarding the Anthem-Dignity Health contract termination effective July 15, 2021.

This is a distressing situation, and we are working to provide the most complete and up-to-date information possible. We wish to emphasize three facts in an effort to reassure our campus community:

  1. The contract termination between Anthem and Dignity did not terminate your medical insurance.

  2. The contract termination does not affect UC Blue & Gold HMO plan members.

  3. The contract termination does not affect Palo Alto Medical Foundation (PAMF).

Staff Human Resources has published answers to frequently asked questions related to the contract termination. We strongly encourage you to review these FAQs to better understand the impacts of this termination on your plan and for additional resources.

The UCSC Benefits Office will continue responding to specific questions and can be reached at benefits@ucsc.edu. Please also contact this email to opt-in to future communications about the contract termination. The UCSC Benefits Office will continue to provide updates as they become available.
