You may have heard that we will have over 3,000 slugs crossing the stage June 11-13! While we can hardly contain ourselves, there’s still much to do in preparation for this unique Commencement season. We’re in need of volunteers to help make sure everything runs smoothly before, during, and after our first ever Slug Crossing. Volunteers before and after will assist with setting up signage, preparing the space for the weekend, and cleaning up after the weekend is over. Volunteer roles over the weekend are designed to help usher graduates and their guests through the experience at various checkpoints.
Sign up to volunteer for one (or more!) times. Once you select a time, you will receive a confirmation email and a calendar invite to join an optional volunteer orientation on Monday, June 7 at 2pm. Please share widely with any colleagues who might be willing and able to help make sure this is a memorable celebration for our Class of 2020 and Class of 2021 graduates.
The commencement website has more information and an overview of the Slug Crossing. New this year, we’ve added an FAQ section that features separate sections for responses to questions from both the grad and guest viewpoints. We are updating our website as information becomes available (and our FAQ gets longer by the day) so I’d encourage you to visit it if you’re curious to learn more about all things commencement related.
Similar to last year, we're collecting congratulatory messages for the Class of 2021 from students, alumni, staff, and faculty. The full site is going live and will feature messages submitted next week so be sure to submit your message now!
