Interim Conflict of Interest Related to Consensual Relationships

To: UC Santa Cruz Community

From: Isabel Dees, Associate Vice Chancellor, Equity and Equal Protection

In October of last year, the Office of Equity and Equal Protection issued a new policy on conflicts of interest related to consensual relationships under a 6-month interim status. It was extended for six months on March 29, 2021. The policy applies to everyone in the UC Santa Cruz community, including anyone who works, lives, visits, or otherwise engages in university activities, and seeks to clarify expectations and support staff and faculty in avoiding professional conflicts of interest related to consensual relationships.

The campus now invites your feedback on the Interim Conflict of Interest Related to Consensual Relationships (Policy EEP–0001) prior to seeking final adoption of the policy. Comments may be submitted using the public comment form here.

Additionally, in order to collect public comment, the CCRT policy subcommittee is hosting 4 listening sessions for campus affiliates which will begin with a short overview of the policy.

We encourage you to attend one of the following listening sessions which are based on affiliation.
