Extended time to use expanded paid administrative leave

To: Faculty, Staff, and Academic Appointees

From: Grace McClintock, Assistant Vice Provost, Academic Personnel & Steve Stein, Associate Vice Chancellor, Staff Human Resources

Colleagues,

In recognition of the extraordinary demands placed on our employees during this pandemic, President Drake has extended the expiration date of the Expanded Paid Administrative Leave from December 31, 2020 to June 30, 2021. However, please note that the one-time allotment of 128 hours (or 16 days) has not been increased.

This extension does not include the two federal programs: Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) and the Emergency Family and Medical Leave Expansion Act (EFMLEA), which provide for 80 hours of emergency paid sick leave (EPSL) and 12-weeks of paid family medical leave (EFML). These two programs are set to expire on December 31, 2020.

If you have any questions about the extension of the Expanded Paid Administrative Leave, please contact elrinfo@ucs.edu or apo@ucsc.edu.
