In an effort to reduce the campus’s carbon footprint, a two-megawatt solar parking canopy will be built at the East Remote Parking Lot. The new solar photovoltaic system will project two-megawatts of power (off-setting approximately 20% of the PG&E campus power demand).
The campus must install and test equipment at Slug Substation for the new solar photovoltaic system. In order to complete this work a campus power shut-down is required. On March 21 and March 28, campus power will be shut-down to install all the required equipment to connect the photovoltaic system to the campus grid and perform testing.
Shutdowns
- Saturday, March 21st from 4 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.
- Saturday, March 28th from 4 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.
Please power down your computers, printers, equipment, etc. before the power outage.
Also please note elevators will not be operational during these power outages.
Review the following four lists for the status of your building and check with your Building Coordinator for additional information:
A. Facilities that will experience utility power interruptions March 21st and March 28th.
B. These facilities are planned to be unaffected by the March 21st and March 28th utility interruptions because Cogen will be providing power.
C. Facilities with emergency and standby power supplied by generators.
D. Facilities that are planned to be unaffected by the utility interruptions because fed directly from PG&E.
