Course offerings for UC Santa Cruz Summer Session have launched at summer.ucsc.edu. Winter is the perfect time to start planning for summer. This year there are more than 350 courses offered from marine ecology and intro to jazz, to natural history illustration and vampire film. There are also over 50 online classes offered, like hip hop history and intro to game art production, so students can take summer anywhere.
Most courses are five credits and take place during one of the two five-week sessions. Extended again this year, eligible high school students get half off tuition to encourage college preparation and major exploration. Students can attend High School Summer University on-campus or online.
“We pride ourselves on offering the courses UCSC students need to graduate,” said Monica Parikh, director of Summer Session. “And summer is also a unique time when classes are open to everyone. Staff, community members, high schoolers from around the world, and students from other universities can come live and learn on our fabulous campus.”
With multiple sessions, summer allows ample time to study with top-notch faculty, while still having time to work and have fun.
