In honor of its 20th anniversary, “Litquake,” San Francisco’s annual literary festival, has created 20 new events in 20 cities across the country outside of San Francisco. One of those events will take place at Bookshop Santa Cruz on October 15, co-presented by The Humanities Institute at UC Santa Cruz.

Remaining safe if power is lost
As you know, we have been informed by PG&E that main campus may see its power cut tonight, part of a statewide plan by the utility to reduce the risk of wildfire in areas where high winds are forecast.

East Remote Solar Project
On March 1, 2019, the campus’ long-planned solar panel installation began in the East Remote parking lot. While this project has made significant progress and completion is in sight, the final phases are scheduled to continue into winter.

UCPath – How It Affects Your Paycheck!
UCPath is coming! In January 2020, UCPath will “go live” for our campus. Employees paid monthly will have their first UCPath payroll date on Jan. 2. Employees who are paid biweekly will have their first UCPath payroll date on Jan. 8.

With power, campus remains open and operational
As of this morning, UC Santa Cruz continues to have power at the main campus, Coastal Science Campus, 2300 Delaware, and the Scotts Valley Center.

UC Santa Cruz has canceled Wednesday’s classes because of PG&E’s power outage, which is expected to begin at the main campus by 5 p.m. Wednesday.
