Summer enrollment grew for the third year in a row at UC Santa Cruz Summer Session with more than 5,999 students taking summer classes. This is the highest recorded summer enrollment, about a 16 percent increase from last year.

"It’s not just a time to get ahead on degree progress, but students can focus on more difficult courses with smaller class sizes and more individualized attention. Our office is proud to continue to serve students by expanding the number of online classes and upper divisions, as well as offering innovative new learning experiences," said Director of UCSC Summer Monica Parikh.

Eligible incoming and continuing students were offered financial aid assistance, and all students had access to Learning Support Services, and discounted on-campus housing.

Summer Session enrolled more visiting students who transferred credits back to their college or university. Additionally, the office expanded its pre-college High School Summer University program, serving more than 100 high schoolers who earned UC credits at half the price.

It’s never too soon to think about next year. Students can check out the “Summer Steadies” (courses offered every summer) today, and all 2020 courses will be posted in December.
