ITS Announcement | Zoom Desktop Client Update

To: UCSC Faculty and Staff

From: Information Technology Services (ITS)

A recent Zoom update may have caused some users to be signed out of the Zoom Desktop Client (App). This results in the user receiving the following message "Error: You are not authorized to start the meeting using the credentials you are signed in with" when attempting to host a Zoom meeting.

If you experience this issue, please follow these steps:

  • Open the Zoom Desktop Client (Zoom.us App) and ensure that you are signed in to your Zoom account

  • Once signed in, you should be able to launch Zoom meetings as usual

  • Users can choose to stay signed in by selecting the "Keep me signed in" option

As a reminder, please report any issues you encounter to the ITS Support Center so we can provide assistance.

If you have questions, please submit a support ticket with the ITS Support Center at https://itrequest.ucsc.edu or by email help@ucsc.edu or telephone 459-HELP(4357).
